Community Health & Welfare
Medical support outreaches have been executed by S4JF including activities at Lugazi Muslim Health Centre; welfare support (collection of clothes and household items for vulnerable beneficiaries on a regular monthly basis).
(i.) Welfare
From inception, S4JF members have contributed to community and member welfare starting with bereavement support extended to members who have lost their loved ones, reflecting the Foundation's commitment to community care alongside charitable programming.
Annually, S4JF distributes clothes and household items to over 1,000 beneficiaries in various districts around Uganda.
(ii.) Medical Camp at Lwamata HC III, Kiboga District
In October 2017, S4JF held its first ever medical camp, organised with the guidance of the District Health Officer. Approximately 800 patients served (exceeding the projected 300–400) across eye care (100 patients; 50 received free reading glasses), dental care (80 patients), cervical and breast cancer screening (46 mothers; 3 referred for further treatment), general medical and surgical (300+ patients), laboratory services (300 patients), and ultrasonography (10 patients).
Additionally, 300+ patients received donated clothes and 108 young girls received free reusable sanitary towels. Partners included Wide Spectrum Enterprises, Health Care Ltd, Elite Medical Frontiers, NBS Television, Bank of Africa-Uganda, and National Water and Sewerage Corporation, among others.
(iii.) Medical Camp at Kangulumira Health Centre IV, Kayunga District
In November 2019, 1,039 patients were served across 10 specialties (eye care: 111; obstetric & gynaecological: 200; orthopedic & paediatric: 181; general medical & surgical: 250; HIV testing: 96; dental: 70; nutrition: 50; cancer screening: 34; ultrasound: 32; safe male circumcision: 12).
Smart Girls Foundation educated 140 girls on reusable sanitary pads; Kibuli Muslim Hospital donated 200 mosquito nets to expectant mothers and young children. The Medical Camp was delivered in partnership with 12 organisations including Elite Medical Frontiers, House of Zakat & Waqf Uganda, Health Care Uganda, Wide Spectrum, TASO Uganda, Pride Microfinance, Saidina Abubakar Hospital, Kibuli Muslim Hospital, Smart Girls Foundation, 2K Restaurant, Sena Foundation, and AUSLEY.
In 2020, medical Sadaq extended to S4JF members facing health emergencies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
(iv.) Children with Special Needs Project
In 2018, S4JF disbursed items to four beneficiary homes in Kabowa, Kirombe Lusaka and Katwe, extending direct support to children and families living with disability.
